IAHPERD Jumps & Hoops Incentive Grants
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART/HOOPS FOR HEART INCENTIVE AWARDS
The JRFH/HFH incentive awards are for $500 or less. Projects must be designed to enhance health, physical education, recreation, and dance within the school and/or community settings. A maximum of $4000 may be dispensed by IAHPERD in any one year.
GUIDELINES
- Must have completed event in current or previous school year before application deadline.
- Application must be received or postmarked by December 15.
- Funds will be dispensed March 15.
- Limit: $500 total in a two year period. If a coordinator has two schools, the limit would be $750 in the two year period but no more than $500 in any two years to the same school.
- JRFH/HFH event must be completed in the year the funding is granted.
- Awardees will discuss his/her project in a round table format at the IAHPERD conference in the fall following the receipt of the grant.
- Applications will be evaluated and winners selected by the IAHPERD Mini-Grants Committee.
- Projects not selected for funding may be resubmitted for consideration the following year provided the coordinator has again successfully completed a JRFH/HFH event.
- Possible uses (suggestions only): raise awareness of a health or fitness issue; purchase small equipment for a specific purpose (new game, etc.); purchase materials to supplement an existing program; improve advocacy within the community; Girls and Women in Sports Day activities; ACES Day program, nutrition month, baby mannequin, or other special activities.
