NCACE Update

Registry

NCACE is pleased to announce two new coaching education providers, the Boston Coaches Academy (Boston Scholar Athlete Program) and the University of North Greenville, have joined NCACE’s Registry over the past few months. By joining NCACE’s Registry, these organizations have indicated their intent of submitting their coaching education programs for accreditation review to NCACE. They join the current Registry members including Emporia State University, the School District of Philadelphia, Institute for Rowing Leadership, Train ‘Em Up Academy, and USA Track & Field.

“It is very encouraging to see these two coaching education providers asserting their intent to have their programs evaluated against the National Standards for Sport Coaches, upon which the NCACE review process is based,” stated Christopher Hickey, NCACE Executive Director.

Coaching education providers who join NCACE’s Registry receive free training and application assistance for three years while they prepare to apply for accreditation.

Newly accredited programs

In June, NCACE granted first-time accreditation to the Professional Tennis Registry’s Master of Tennis Coaching Education Program (Level 5), and the University of Central Florida’s undergraduate coaching education program (Level 3). Also, Georgia Southern University’s undergraduate coaching education program was re-accredited for another seven years.

President-elect selected for Board of Directors

At the annual NeACE delegate assembly held in June at the National Coaching Conference, Associate Professor Tiffanye Vargas from the University of Texas-San Antonio was elected President-elect to serve a three-year term.
